Kyle Larson and William Byron – Our Top 2025 Cook Out 400 Favorites

This coming weekend, NASCAR drivers will battle over 400 laps (210.4 miles) on the short track in Martinsville, which is one of the most iconic tracks in American stock car racing.

Speaking of which, there are two NASCAR races held in Martinsville each season – the Cook Out 400 and Xfinity 500 (a Playoff race).

Last year, William Byron was the driver who won the Cook Out 400, while Kyle Larson – who won it a year before – finished second. In the Xfinity 500 race in last year’s NASCAR Playoffs, Ryan Blaney won, while Larson finished third.

Knowing this, it’s clear that Larson loves this racetrack. Add to this the fact that he won last weekend’s race – as we rightly predicted – and you’ll understand why he’s thought of as a top favorite.

He’s currently second in the 2025 NASCAR Drivers’ Championship, just behind William Byron, who’s also seen as one of the potential candidates for the top spot on the podium at Martinsville.  

Other Drivers Who Could Do Fine on March 30

Tyler Reddick and Christopher Bell will enter the 2025 Cook Out 400 in strong form. Bell leads the season with three wins but dropped to fifth in the standings after a rough 29th-place finish last weekend.

The reason why these guys’ odds aren’t shorter is that they don’t have too many good memories of love racing at the Martinsville Speedway.

A man who loves racing at Martinsville is Ryan Blaney. While he’s yet to win a Cook Out 400 race, he’s done great at the Xfinity 500, winning the event the last two times. In the Cook Out 400, he finished fifth last year, while in 2023, he was seventh.
