Rhino.Bet has issued a statement to its customers published on its website in which the operator confirmed that the website will be no longer operational from Wednesday, March 26.

Consumers have until April 26 to withdraw their balances. The company added that any unsettled ante-post bets that have not been settled by today will also be voided.

The company was operating in the market through the Playbook Gaming license issued by the local gambling regulator and will now be entering the final weeks of winding down its operations. No other details were offered as to what has prompted the exit, but the most likely reason is a failure to meet business expectations.

A quick check on the UK Gambling Commission’s website does not indicate any enforcement action to have been taken against the operator, prompting its decision to shutter its market presence as well.

Rhino.Bet broke ground into the British betting market in early 2022 and quickly sought to differentiate its offer by reaching out and establishing partnerships with lower-profile sports, such as women’s soccer clubs, along with horse racing deals.

The company spends on attracting talent and promoting its brand and good name, including popular sports figures like Henry Brooke, Josephine Gordon, and Sam James, who are famous jockeys.

Rhino.Bet Not the Only Recent Departure from the UK Market

Rhino.Bet is not the only company to withdraw from the market in the recent past. Stake, a crypto-focused globe-trotter of a gaming company, also announced its exit in February and shuttered operations by March 11, following an abrupt decision by the management.

The decision coincided with an investigation into an unspecified controversy.

Stake said at the time that it would look to focus on other core markets and that if it chose to re-enter the UK market, it would not be through a white-label license.
